Jude Currivan, PhD, has advanced degrees in both physics and archeology. She is author of several books, including The Wave, The Eighth Chakra, The Thirteenth Step, CosMos (with Ervin Laszlo), The Cosmic Hologram, and most recently The Story of Gaia: The Big Breath and the Evolutionary Journey of Our Conscious Planet.

Here she points out that we can observe the fundamental building blocks of life – amino acids, sugars, oxygen, hydrogen, sulfur, etc. – in the enormous gas and dust clouds within our own galaxy out of which stars and planets are formed. So, it is likely that we will find biological life throughout the galaxy. She describes the evolution and enormous intelligence of cells, even though they possess no nervous systems. The conversation covers enormous details leading up to modern humans, the last of the surviving hominids, the children of Gaia.

James Tunney, LLM, is an Irish barrister who has lectured on legal matters throughout the world. He is a poet, a scholar, and author of The Mystery of the Trapped Light: Mystical Thoughts in the Dark Age of Scientism plus The Mystical Accord: Sutras to Suit Our Times, Lines for Spiritual Evolution; also Empire of Scientism: The Dispiriting Conspiracy and Inevitable Tyranny of Scientocracy, TechBondAge: Slavery of the Human Spirit, and Human Entrance to Transhumanism: Machine Merger and the End of Humanity. Here he argues that society itself is turning into a giant machine, like an automaton and that individuals are, slowly, becoming integrated into this machine, and thus losing their autonomy. The antidote to this situation is the cultivation of a strong inner, spiritual life. However, societal mechanisms operate in a manner as to suppress the inner life with the many distractions of technology. He warns that many technologies, such as genetic engineering, sold to the public as beneficial – have the potential to be used by corporate entities for purposes of social control.

She maintains that universal principles, such as the golden mean and the fibonacci sequence, can be seen in operation throughout the entire process – contradicting the notion that life is the result of random or chaotic processes. She offers a vision in which the entire universe can be seen as alive and conscious.

Here he points out that DMT, the most powerful psychedelic known, is produced naturally in the human body, throughout the brain, in quantities comparable to other neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. However, the function of DMT within the body still remains a mystery. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are typically included in native ayahuasca brews and have the effect of magnifying the impact of DMT during ayahuasca experiences – thus the psychoactive effects can last for several hours.

James P. Driscoll is, perhaps, the foremost interpreter of renaissance literature from a Jungian perspective. He is author of Identity in Shakespearean Drama, The Unfolding God of Jung and Milton, Shakespeare and Jung: The God in Time, Shakespeare’s Identities, Jung’s Cartography of the Psyche, and Carl vs Karl: Jung and Marx, Two Icons for Our Age.

Here he notes that Jung and Marx are iconic figures because they embody two significant and opposing trends in western culture. Marx focused almost exclusively on the problem of a just society, and almost totally ignored individual wholeness and psychic growth. Jung focused entirely on the process of personal individuation, and paid almost no attention to problems of social justice. Both men rebelled against conventional religion, however their rebellions took them in different directions. In Marxist thought, the party becomes a substitute for the church. In Jungian thought, depth psychology is often used as a substitute for religion.

P. D. Newman is author of Alchemically Stoned: The Psychedelic Secret of Freemasonry and also Angels in Vermilion: The Philosopher’s Stone from Dee to DMT. He is a 32nd degree master mason.

Here he points out that many species of the acacia tree contain DMT, the most potent psychedelic known. The very earliest alchemical writings – ie, those of Zosimos in the fourth century, AD – explicitly refer to the use of the acadia tree to derive the “philosopher’s stone.” Fourteen centuries later, the writings of Cagliostro are explicit that a potion derived from the acacia tree served as the basis for illumination in the Egyptian Rites that he initiated. Many other examples point to an intimate connection between entheogens and western esotericism.
