Here she describes life and work of Jean Millay, PhD, teacher, fine artist, biofeedback researcher, parapsychologist, and psychic. Jean was closely aligned with the pioneers of the psychedelic era of the 1960s and 1970s. She was a deep student of shamanism. She worked closely with other parapsychologists including Stanley Krippner and Russell Targ. Her books include the anthology, Radiant Minds, as well as Multidimensional Mind: Remote Viewing in Hyperspace.

Jeffrey Mishlove shares a new, experimental approach. During a weeklong period, he interrupted his regular, meditations to write down short phrases – typically two words – describing the states of consciousness he was experiencing in succession. By the week’s end, he had notated over sixty such different states. These could be considered, perhaps, a poem – or, perhaps, even instructions for achieving, or at least apprehending, these states of awareness.

Michael Cremo is coauthor with Richard Thompson of Forbidden Archeology. He is also author of Human Devolution: A Vedic Alternative to Darwin’s Theory as well as My Science, My Religion – a collection of his scientific papers.

Here he describes the Vedic worldview as one in which consciousness, rather than matter, is considered fundamental. The Vedic universe is populated by a vast array of entities including both extraterrestrial and extra-dimensional. There are deities and demonic entities covering a wide range of technological and spiritual attainments. Flying vehicles are frequently described. Some are described in mechanical terms others are completely mental, or spiritual, in nature. Cremo points out that there are many similarities between modern UFO reports and ancient Vedic accounts.

Rolf Sattler is emeritus professor of biology at McGill University in Montrael, Canada. He is author of Organogenesis of Flowers, Biophilosophy: Analytic and Holistic Perspectives, and Science and Beyond: Toward Greater Sanity Through Science, Philosophy, Art, and Spirituality.

Here he describes many ways in which we fail to appreciate the limits of science. He notes that science is always changing and, therefore, it cannot “prove” anything. Drawing upon the General Semantics of Alfred Korzybski, he notes that language is always imperfect and is never equal to that which it endeavors to describe. He adds that culture is out of balance; and he emphasizes the yin yang philosophy of balance.

Connie Zweig, PhD, is a retired psychotherapist. She is coeditor of the anthology, Meeting the Shadow: The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature. Here she describes the many challenges we face as we enter into the autumn and winter of our lives. Among the most serious of these is ageism, a form of social discrimination that remains largely unchallenged. Other issues include increased helplessness, pain, disease, and infirmity. Fear of death also looms large. These factors all become “grist for the mill” and can lead to spiritual openings.

Constance Scharff, PhD, is the vice president for business development of Rock to Recovery – an organization, both for-profit and non-profit, that operates in over 100 treatment facilities. She is author of a book of poetry titled Meeting God at Midnight. She is coauthor, with Richard Tait, of Ending Addiction for Good. She is also coauthor, with Wes Geer, of Rock to Recovery: Music as a Catalyst for Human Transformation.

Here she describes how the Rock to Recovery program touches the lives of thousands of individuals, each year, who are suffering from trauma, addiction, and mental illness. She describes how music affects the brain and nervous system. She explains how non-musicians are able to come together to write songs and create music, forming communities that facilitate the therapeutic process.
