Here he acknowledges that Jean Houston has had a more profound influence on his life than any living person other than his family members and closest friends. He describes how he first met her in 1973 and summarizes some of his experiences attending her workshops. He closes the monologue by referring to Jean’s observation that certain qualities of character that others may judge as flaws or pathologies can turn out to be our greatest assets.

Here he suggests that one important reason why people unconsciously block their psi ability is fear. He lists a number of such fears including fear of social ostracism, fear of being thought insane, and fear of going insane. He discusses the work of Wilson Van Dusen, a psychologist who felt that people suffering from psychoses were being invaded by negative spirits. He suggests that people who wish to cultivate psi ability need to acknowledge and process such fears.

Here he describes his initial 1968 encounter with the teaching of Rudolf Steiner. Steiner was a man of enormous talents who wrote 200 books and gave 6,000 lectures. He founded many disciplines including Eurythmy, Waldorf Education, and Bio-Dynamic agriculture. He was an artist, playwrite, architect, and sculptor. He wrote extensively about spirituality and esoteric subjects. In particular, Jeffrey focuses on Steiner’s writings about achieving initiation by encountering the Guardian of the Threshold.

His thought process was all-encompassing as he endeavored to discover the underlying elements of process for all sciences and human activities. Above all, Young encouraged those he knew to be responsible for giving birth to the best aspects of themselves.

The book also contained important ideas concerning the possible role of Bell’s Theorem in understanding psychic functioning. At the end of the video is a hot link to a free, online version of the 2nd edition of the book.

John Brandenburg, PhD, is a plasma physicist. He is author of Death on Mars, Beyond Einstein’s Unified Field, Life and Death on Mars, Dead Mars Dying Earth, Morningstar Pass, and The GEM Unification Theory. Here he describes his concerns about nuclear war as he worked in U.S. government weapons laboratories. Eventually he became captivated by the possibility that the “face on Mars” indicated intelligent life elsewhere in our solar system. Further research led him to conclude that the presence of certain isotopes on Mars were evidence of an ancient nuclear war. The discussion concludes with his forays into science fiction writing and his explorations of a government UFO coverup.

Carlos S. Alvarado, PhD, is a Research Fellow at the Parapsychology Foundation, and Adjunct Research Faculty at Sofia University. He is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Near-Death Studies and the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, and is the Book Review Editor of the Journal of Parapsychology, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Scientific Exploration. Alvarado is also the recipient of the 2010 Parapsychological Association’s Outstanding Contribution Award, the Parapsychological Association 2017 Outstanding Career Award. He is author of the book, Charles Richet: A Nobel Prize Winning Scientist’s Explorations of Psychic Phenomena.

Here he describes the various investigations conducted with one of the most colorful and fascinating characters in the history of psychical research. Although it was widely acknowledged that Eusapia Palladino sometimes employed fraudulent methods to produce ostensible paranormal effects, he argues that a careful study of the literature provides convincing evidence that many of the phenomena she produced were genuine. These included materializations and table levitations. Seances with her inspired many different theoretical and experimental approaches.

Andy Hilton is author of Anthropology and Mysticism in the Making of Initiation. He is also coeditor of the anthology, Perspectives on Commoning.

Here he describes the idea of “commoning” as derived from the commons associated with medieval villages. Typically, this was a square in the center where the residents would graze their sheep. It has evolved into a grassroots movement related to the sharing of property — both physical and intellectual. The conversation focuses on the political implications of commoning and the idea that, individually and as a human community, we contain within ourselves a diversity of political perspectives.

Darryl Robert Schoon is a financial analyst famous for having predicted the 2008 market crash. His website is www.drschoon.com. He is author of Light in a Dark Place: The Prison Years, Time of the Vulture, Report to the House Select Committee on Intelligence, Is God Confused?, and The Way to Heaven. He has also written a novel titled You Can’t Always Get What You Want. He is a minister with the Temple of Universality in Tucson, Arizona. His website is http://www.drschoon.com/.

In this very personal video, he reveals how and why his years in prison (as a drug dealer) facilitated his achieving a temporary state of enlightenment. He acknowledges that, in his case, the suffering seemed necessary for him to have achieved a breakthrough. Given the positive changes he experienced, he maintains that, if he had the option of doing it all over again, he would do so.

James Tunney, LLM, is an Irish Barrister who has lectured on legal matters throughout the world. He is a poet, a visual artist, and also author of The Mystical Accord: Sutras to Suit Our Times, Lines for Spiritual Evolution. In addition, he has written two dystopian novels — Blue Lies September, and Ireland I Don’t Recognize Who She Is. His website is http://www.jamestunney.com.

Here he proposes that one need not lose one’s sovereign autonomy to a guru or spiritual leader in order to pursue an authentic mystical path. The path involves learning to distinguish the true Self from false images of the self. Ultimately, it involves the cultivation of compassion for both oneself and others — leading to transcendence.

Jason Reza Jorjani, PhD, is a philosopher and author of Prometheus and Atlas, World State of Emergency, Lovers of Sophia, Novel Folklore: The Blind Owl of Sadegh Hedayat, and Iranian Leviathan: A Monumental History of Mithra’s Abode.

Here he explores the hypothesis that many UFO sightings can be attributed to a non-governmental, human organization. He proposes that this organization developed extraordinary technology in the late nineteenth century, that it was associated with German nationalists, and that it received financial support from Americans. After WWII, he speculates that this network incorporated newer technologies that had been developed by the Nazi regime. He compares this network to the Spectre organization in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels.
