Jeffrey Mishlove describes a series of research studies in parapsychology that demonstrate causal influences from the future upon both human physiology and behavior. This work has now been widely replicated. Meta-analyses show that the combined results greatly exceed chance expectation. James Tunney, LLM, is an Irish Barrister who has lectured on legal matters throughout the world. He is a poet, a visual artist, and also author of The Mystical Accord: Sutras to Suit Our Times, Lines for Spiritual Evolution. In addition, he has written two dystopian novels — Blue Lies September, and Ireland I Don’t Recognize Who She Is. His website is http://www.jamestunney.com.

Bruce Olav Solheim, PhD, is professor of history at Citrus College in Glendora, California. He also served as a Fulbright professor in 2003 at the University of Tromsø in northern Norway. He teaches a paranormal personal history course. He is author of five books on history and political science, one novel, three plays, and three books about his personal paranormal history, Timeless: A Paranormal Personal History, Timeless Deja Vu: A Paranormal Personal History, and Timeless Trinity: An Extra-Terrestrial and Paranormal Personal History. Darryl Robert Schoon is a financial analyst famous for having predicted the 2008 market crash. His website is www.drschoon.com. He is author of Light in a Dark Place: The Prison Years, Time of the Vulture, Report to the House Select Committee on Intelligence, Is God Confused?, and The Way to Heaven. He has also written a novel titled You Can’t Always Get What You Want. He is a minister with the Temple of Universality in Tucson, Arizona.

Here he reviews his history of working with affirmations, building upon a previous video conversation made four months earlier. He reports that, since then, he has begun once again working with affirmations. The discussion delves into the nature of thought itself. He further amplifies the distinction between the Tonal and Nagual, as described by Don Juan in the writings of Carlos Castaneda. He questions conventional thinking that values thought over emotions, and emotions over the impulses of the physical body.

Jeffrey Mishlove explores the notion of subtlety or nuance. It is generally thought of as a hallmark of intellectual inquiry, i.e., an awareness of fine distinctions. It also refers to subliminal perceptions — as well as thoughts that are relegated to the subconscious or unconscious. Jeff suggests that, while subtle thoughts may involve very tiny shifts in attitude or in perception, the consequences can sometimes be quite dramatic and powerful.

Here Jeff looks back at the previous monologue and remarks that he is filled with the significance of the insight that “we can shift our consciousness with a single thought”. Considering that we each experience 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day, the potential for leveraging small shifts in awareness is tremendous. However, sometimes we are so attached that a single thought is insufficient to pull us out of a particular state. This is the problem that Jeff addresses now, referencing his experiences in 1969 as a student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.

Here he describes meeting Donald Fraser Keys at the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in Berkeley, California, in the early 1990s. Keys presented Jeff with a copy of his unpublished autobiography in which he describes visionary experiences of traveling in UFOs and meeting with representatives of the Galactic Council. Keys was also the founder of an organization called Planetary Citizens and was deeply involved in the esoteric culture of the Arcane School. Jeff maintains that the best way to evaluate claims such as this is by looking for empirical evidence.

Traditionally, it means a living incarnation of a deity. He was first exposed to the claims of divinity for Meher Baba as a college student in the 1960s. Adi Da Samraj was a more complex figure who was known as a practitioner of “crazy wisdom”.

Jeffrey Mishlove has based this monolog on a lecture he has prepared for a graduate level course on William James. He reviews James’ history with the Society for Psychical Research in England, starting in 1882. James regarded the spiritualistic hypothesis of communication between the living and the dead as worthy of and amenable to empirical testing. Toward the end of his career he came to accept the spiritualist hypothesis based on the “dramatic probability”. But, he realized that more needed to be done with regard to the accumulation of empirical data.

Here Jeff shares his reflections after listening to a lecture by Gary Lachman, author of Dark Star Rising, about occult influences within the alt-right supporting the election of Donald Trump. It turns out that the iconic meme of “Pepe the frog” used by Trump supporters was also, in the minds of many, akin to that of the ancient Egyptian frog deity, Kek, the god of chaos and darkness (as well as of light). Lachman maintains that some members of the alt-right deliberately invoked this image as a way of inducing synchronicities that would support the Trump victory.

Here Jeff discusses the work of Jacques Vallee, UFO researcher and computer scientist, whom he first interviewed in 1973. Vallee worked at SRI International in the 1970s and helped develop the software for ARPANET, which eventually evolved into the internet. At the same time he was engaged with the remote viewing work of Ingo Swann, Hal Puthoff, and Russell Targ at SRI. Jeff explores Vallee’s dictum that, if you want to know what will happen in the next ten years, look back at what has happened over the last fifty.

He realizes that this will be controversial because of the political content; but he urges viewers to watch the episode either on HBO or segments that are available on YouTube. He also points out that he disagrees with Bill Maher’s attitude toward the paranormal, because Maher seems to lump parapsychology together with various religious follies.

Betty J. Kovacs, PhD, taught symbolic/mythic language for twenty-five years. She has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jung Society of Claremont, California, and sits on the Academic Advisory Board of Forever Family Foundation. Dr. Kovacs is author of Merchants of Light: The Consciousness That Is Changing the World, winner of The Scientific and Medical Network 2019 Book Prize and a Nautilus Silver Award. Here she maintains that, throughout the world, original myths describe our connection with an invisible world in which we partake of immortality. This is expressed in ancient cave cultures and shamanistic traditions. It can be found is esoteric culture worldwide. In particular she focuses on myths concerning the Tree of Life. She suggests that this myth was inverted by the Deuteronomists around 620 BCE and that this inversion has shaped Western culture, and caused much suffering.

Here Jeff shares his impressions after viewing the presidential address to the Parapsychological Association given by Dean Radin, author of Real Magic. There are several reasons for optimism. Membership in the Association is at an all-time high. The American Psychologist, flagship journal of the American Psychological Association, has just published a very favorable article summarizing the highly significant results of 1700 psi research studies published in refereed journals. Scholars from many fields of study are considering the fundamental role of consciousness in science.

Crowley was an early forerunner of the sexual revolution and promoted the use of both sex and various drugs in the context of magickal rituals. He believed himself to be the inaugurator of a new era for humanity in which individuals would seek to align their own free will with the will of the cosmos.

Here Jeff focuses on efforts to replicate some of the unusual macro-psychokinetic phenomena that were reported in nineteenth century spiritualist seances. In England, Kenneth Batcheldor developed a method for achieving table levitations. He incorporated a seance-like atmosphnere — but with neither the solemnity of a religious service nor any spiritualist mediums. In Toronto, Canada, the local Society for Psychical Research expanded on Batcheldor’s work — by successfully creating an imaginary ghost they named Philip.

When he originally met her, and interviewed her on KPFA-FM in Berkeley, California, she was known as Joanna Leary, the wife of Timothy Leary. She worked tirelessly for years to help release Timothy Leary from federal custody — even promising to go on a hunger strike. Subsquently, in 2013 her book about these experiences was published, titled Tripping the Bardo with Timothy Leary.

Here Jeff describes three different types of experimenter effects that can, potentially, contaminate scientific studies. The first of these involves influence experimental subjects through direct statements, subtle hints, and non-verbal cues. Typically, the use of control groups and double-blind protocols protects against this. The second type of experimenter effect involves the use of Questionable Research Practices (QRPs). The third, and most serious, is the possibility of experimenter psi. The best way to protect against this possibility is to focus on the magnitude of psi in our experiments — rather than the process.

Here Jeff notes that he could divide his life into two phases: before and after psychedelics. Before psychedelics, growing up as a teenager in Wisconsin, he imbibed alcohol liberally. In Wisconsin, it was almost a patriotic duty to drink milk on weekdays — and beer on weekends. He also notes that he has personally witnessed or known of many tragic circumstances resulting from alcohol use and abuse. He regards 12-step programs as a positive social contributing resulting from alcohol addiction.

Here Jeff describes his experience of being libelled in 1980, as well as the six-year long legal battle that followed. Eventually Jeff emerged victorious. Nevertheless, the lawsuit took its toll. A particular difficulty for those who have been libelled is dealing with the response from former friends and supporters who distance themselves and take a “wait and see” attitude toward the situation. Jeff then points out that one of his favorite guests, Jason Reza Jorjani, is now suffering from a libel much worse than the one he endured.

Here Jeff discusses one of the most well-attested findings in parapsychology. People who believe that they can perform well on a test of ESP tend to do so; while people who do not have confidence in their ability tend to score at chance levels of below. Statistically significant psi scoring, below chance expectation, is known as psi-missing. Jeff integrates this finding with our general understanding of the role of belief systems in human performance behavior.

Paul Levy is author of The Madness of George W. Here he describes the concept of a virus of the mind, infecting all of humanity. He references the native Cree term Wetiko. However, it could be thought of as Satan or Ahriman or the Archons. In Jungian terms, it involves a projection of one’s own shadow on to elements of the world at large. It is a form of psychic blindness. However, when we recognize the Wetiko for what it is, we also see that it is an expression of our own power in the external world. Quantum physics now shows us, unequivocally, that the distinction between objective and subjective is an illusion. Just as all elements of a dream are a reflection of one’s own psyche, so do we bring the “objective world” into existence through our collective consciousness.

He suggests that when he begins a monologue with no agenda or script, the possibility exists of transmitting messages from a deeper level within himself. He explores the Buddhist concept of nirvana. He also looks at a variety of phenomena, such as UFOs, that mainstream society regards as worthless — suggesting that some of these may be of great significance. He suggests that humans may simultaneously partake of both being and nothingness.

He also wears hearing aids and uses a special air pressure machine to help sleep at night. And, he plans to meet with a surgeon soon to discuss a possible knee replacement. All of these developments indicate of how rapidly the human species is merging with technology of our own creation. Yet, in spite of amazing progress, human ignorance remains, and will always remain, overwhelmingly greater than human knowledge.

He describes his history of syncopes and heart rhythm issues, noting that a pacemaker was first recommended by a physician more than ten years ago. He declined at that time, knowing that he would eventually require one. He suggests that he is now somewhat more of a cyborg — and that this is a global trend. He also elaborates on these events as related to consciousness.

Here he notes that both Adams and Jefferson died on July 4, 1826. They were revolutionary comrades and later bitter political enemies. Eventually, with the assistance of Benjamin Rush, they reconciled and developed a close relationship. Adams’ last words were “Jefferson still survives.” Jeff speculates that, perhaps, Adams had a deathbed vision of Jefferson waiting to greet him from the other side.

Here he suggests that western culture is out-of-balance because our image of the divine severely diminishes the feminine aspect. As a result, women are treated as less godly than men. Furthermore, those aspects of the psyche that are associated with the feminine, feeling and intuition (including psychic functioning), are relegated to an inferior status — as compared with the masculine attributes of thinking and sensing.

Here he begins with a discussion of memory loss; then he pivots to the main topic, the Bible. He points to the work of Julius Wellhausen, in the early twentieth century, inaugurating a new era of biblical criticism by identifying different authors of the five books of Moses. He points to the lack of evidence, in ancient Egyptian records, of any references to the events portrayed in the Book of Exodus. He notes that excavations of the City of Jericho have found the the ancient walls decayed slowly over time, and did not collapse suddenly as is portrayed in the Joshua. He also highlights the work of Yuval Noah Harari and his emphasis of the human capacity for creating fictional stories.

James Tunney, LLM, is an Irish Barrister who has lectured on legal matters throughout the world. He is a poet, a visual artist, and also author of The Mystical Accord: Sutras to Suit Our Times, Lines for Spiritual Evolution. In addition, he has written two dystopian novels — Blue Lies September, and Ireland I Don’t Recognize Who She Is. His website is http://www.jamestunney.com.

Here he discusses various elements of society that are antagonistic to mysticism. He notes that the objectivist philosophy of Ayn Rand, while antagonistic to religion, and therefore mysticism, ought not to be — since it emphasizes individual freedom. However, objectivism has strong rationalistic and scientistic elements that tend to view mysticism as a dangerous superstition. Similarly, psychiatry also tends to confuse mysticism with psychopathology.

Here he revisits the recent video conversation with Jason Reza Jorjani about Franz Kafka’s novel, The Trial. He points to one interpretation suggested by Jorjani: that we are all guilty of being at odds with ourself to a greater or lesser degree. No one is so well-integrated as to be free of self-contradictory behaviors. In fact, there are many other things for which we might well feel guilty. Jeff suggests that we can address this situation by letting go of all guilt. He points out that, in so doing, we must seek to become more responsible for our own actions.
